Beontag launched Steelwave Edge, the latest addition to the company’s on-metal RFID portfolio. Featuring support for Impinj Gen2X, Steelwave Edge was engineered to bridge the performance-cost gap, offering a versatile mid-range solution for the most cost-critical applications.

Steelwave Edge uses the latest Impinj M830 IC with support for Gen2X, an enhancement to the radio and logical layers of the Gen2 RAIN RFID protocol that increases tag read range, inhibits tag and item counterfeiting, and reduces solution cost.

Steelwave Edge’s long-term adherence to metal and its availability in 4 sizes allow a broad range of applications, such as automotive parts tracking and inventory control, offering reliable solutions from large-scale deployments to everyday asset tracking.

Verified with leading printer manufacturers, Steelwave Edge provides dependable print quality, making deployment fast and effortless in complex labeling environments, helping maximize productivity while minimizing printing errors.

“Beontag has more than two decades of experience in on-metal RFID tag development, across different markets,” said Thiago Horta, VP of Digital Transformation Enablers at Beontag. “Steelwave Edge represents the latest chapter on this long-standing expertise to further expand performance, reliability, and scalability for our customers’ evolving operational needs.”
