Tekscan, a leader in tactile pressure sensing and pressure mapping technology, launched the ErGO-Scan, a new pressure mapping platform for wheelchair seating assessments and clinical mobility evaluations.

ErGO-Scan helps clinicians visualize pressure distribution, compare wheelchair cushions and seating configurations, and support seating decisions with objective data. By helping clinicians identify high-pressure areas and evaluate seating fit more objectively, pressure mapping technology can support improved comfort and help reduce the risk of pressure-related skin breakdown.

Designed specifically for the workflows of Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) and seating clinicians, ErGO-Scan provides objective pressure measurement in a lightweight, portable system optimized for routine clinical use.

It features a newly developed durable fabric sensor technology and has intuitive software with streamlined reporting and data-sharing options. It is also wireless for a more natural patient interaction, with a wired option available for extended assessments.

“The development of ErGO-Scan was guided by direct feedback from ATPs and seating clinicians,” said Jennifer Cullen, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at Tekscan. “Clinicians emphasized the importance of a system that integrates seamlessly into everyday workflows, with portable hardware, laptop-based operation, and simple ways to capture and share pressure mapping images and recordings. Making the system both effective for patients and intuitive for clinicians remained a central focus throughout development.”

ErGO-Scan complements Tekscan’s existing clinical pressure mapping portfolio. While CONFORMat continues to support advanced clinical and research applications, ErGO-Scan was specifically developed for routine ATP and seating clinic workflows, emphasizing portability, ease of use, rapid setup, and streamlined reporting.
