Toyo Ink International Corporation announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Toyo Color America, LLC, the sales, service and distribution arm of Toyo Ink specialty chemicals and products for the North American market, has changed its company name to Toyo Ink Mfg. America, LLC.

This change became effective on July 1, 2008. The name change reflects management’s decision to integrate Toyo Color’s existing business with the production and marketing operations of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Bryan, TX. Expected to come on-stream this October, the Texas facility will produce adhesives and packaging gravure and flexographic inks, further expanding the companys’ product offerings and ability to provide custom solutions to our customers.

“It’s a natural transition,” said Fusao Ito, president of the Toyo Ink Group in the Americas. “The decision better aligns business functions and promotes efficient use of existing resources, creating greater group synergy.

“The Toyo Ink name has been around for 100 years and is a respected brand in the printing and graphic arts industries,” Mr. Ito added. “As we expand our North American business and build greater awareness of comprehensive business activities in strategic markets such as organic pigments and specialty polymers for coatings and adhesives, and packaging inks, we will make further efforts to promote the Toyo Ink name in our marketing communications and leverage the brand’s positive image.”
