Visitors to Flint Group Narrow Web stand, 5B45, at this year’s Labelexpo Europe in Brussels, 23-26 September, will be provided with a full insight into the wider world of label and narrow web print. Flint Group Narrow Web is preparing an inspiring visit to the show as they are providing several solutions to piece together the increasingly complex puzzle of successful narrow web label printing.

Their comprehensive portfolio of narrow web inks spans a wide range of decorative applications, from self-adhesive, wrap-around, and in-mould labels to sleeves, flexible packaging, and folding cartons. The Labelexpo stand will show a combination of innovative approaches to traditional topics, as well as new products that are expanding the opportunities in narrow web printing.

Converters will be able to learn more about how Flint Group Narrow Web can educate them on how to achieve award-winning quality in narrow web printing.

“Around 50 percent of the prize-winners and the special Judges Awards in this year’s FINAT International Label Competition were printed with inks from Flint Group,”said Niklas Olsson, Flint Group Narrow Web global brand manager. “As the world’s truly dedicated manufacturer of narrow web inks, we are of the opinion that inks play an essential role in achieving optimal results and, at the same time, provide advantages on operational costs, as great ink impacts the whole print process with good uptime and low waste. All are clear benefits for improved profitability for any label printer, and something we at Flint Group Narrow Web are masters at incorporating in our ink formulations.”

Flint Group is excited to announce the world introduction of Flexocure Force – the milestone development in UV Flexo technology that will enable printers to take another step in print quality, improved mileage and press performance, much easier handling due to lower viscosity and no foaming, greater adhesion to a wider range of substrates and improved performance on many variable printing techniques – Flexocure Foorce covers everything a label and narrow web printer needs today, tomorrow and for the foreseeable future.

“As an integral part of developing new products we have a clear customer focus,” Par Olsson, Flint Group’s product manager for UV inks, said. “We always involve leading quality minded converters in the development process. They are asked to explain and exemplify prior to the project what properties and parameters they are missing in the market, and after we have listed all parameters our researchers start to build the technology that can provide solutions for them.”

“Naturally we close the loop by getting these parameters verified and controlled by the same clients by offering them beta test opportunities prior to the commercialization of any of these products,” Mr. Olsson continued. “With regard to results from the beta test of Flexocure Force, we did get an overwhelmingly positive response with literally 100 percent of the customer feedback reporting clear improved properties from printability and adhesion to press performance.Obviously we are very pleased that we have managed to exceed the ambitious target of getting all the identified properties improved. Clear is that Flexocure Force will be giving great power to the printer.”

Visitors to stand 5B45 can also view many new solutions, like a new Flexocure XS opaque white ink for Shrink sleeve printing with greatly improved slip characteristics; the latest upgrade of CombiWhite; now even whiter, better press performance and printability.

“We have many new powerful solutions we think can be of interest to the market, so we want to test this idea, like for example an anti-bacterial UV varnish,” Mr. Olsson noted. “We will launch UV curable primers that can offer cost advantages that could replace pre top coated synthetic substrates, just to name a few.”

The Flint Group Narrow Web portfolio can be enjoyed on stand 5B45 in a relaxed and friendly setting, and visitors can enjoy refreshments while they fully embrace what is new in narrow web printing inks through the InfoBank on-screen ‘encyclopaedia.’
