The MLX90632 miniature SMD thermometer IC from Melexis makes accurate non-contact temperature measurement easy, especially in thermally difficult environments and when available space is limited. The thermometer is factory calibrated and can measure object temperatures between -20°C and 200°C with a target object temperature accuracy of ±1°C.

The inclusion of the MLX90632 driver in the Linux Kernel offers an interface for all software developers on Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, ODROID, Intel Edison and other embedded systems that run Linux (or Android) and have an I2C interface.
