Universal Display Announces 2019 UDC Innovative Research, Pioneering Technology Award Recipients

Awards were presented at the 19th International Meeting of Information Display (IMID) conference in Gyeongju, Korea.

Universal Display Corporation announced the recipients of the UDC Innovative Research Award in Organic Electronics and the UDC Pioneering Technology Award in Organic Electronics.

These awards were presented at the 19th International Meeting of Information Display (IMID) conference on Aug. 29, 2019, in Gyeongju, Korea by Dr. Julie Brown, SVP and chief technology officer of Universal Display.

“As a pioneer in the OLED ecosystem, we believe in supporting and fostering initiatives that cultivate and encourage future generations of scientists and promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields in our communities around the world,” said  said Steven V. Abramson, Universal’s president and CEO. “UDC is extremely pleased to be a continued sponsor of these awards that celebrate imaginative creativity, lateral thinking, and the pursuit of excellence.”

The UDC awards recognize outstanding individuals or teams that have demonstrated innovative ideas or research initiatives impacting the organic electronics industry. The winners were selected by IMID and KIDS (Korean Information Display Society).

The recipients for 2019 are:

UDC Innovative Research Award in Organic Electronics
Mina Jung, Kyung Hyung Lee, and Jun Yeob Lee (Sungkyunkwan University, Korea)

UDC Pioneering Technology Award in Organic Electronics
Ho-Yeol Park, Athithan Maheshwaran and Sung-Ho Jin (Pusan National University, Korea)
