Zebra Technologies participated at the RFID Journal LIVE! 11th Annual Conference and Exhibition from April 30-May 2, 2013 in Orlando, FL. Zebra demonstrated many of its leading RFID solutions including its new ZD500R printer, an ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID printer with encoding capabilities for the retail, manufacturing and government industries. In addition, event attendees learned more about the accelerated adoption of real-time locating systems (RTLS) across multiple industries through Zebra and customer-led speaking sessions.

“We’re excited to participate in RFID Journal LIVE! and demonstrate Zebra’s latest solutions that are changing how industries use RFID to gain visibility into their operations,” said Jill Stelfox, vice president and general manager of Location Solutions, Zebra Technologies. “Whether it’s the precision of RTLS solutions or the ingenuity of item-level RFID tagging, our goal is to help businesses seize the opportunity with emerging technology trends, such as the Internet of Things.”

At RFID Journal LIVE!, Zebra and its customers highlighted unique applications of RFID technology solutions that have helped drive business benefits at the following speaking sessions:

• Vail Resorts, Inc, a leading mountain resort operator in the U.S., recently revamped its guest experience through the EpicMix application, powered by Zebra’s RFID technology. The application allows skiers to track their runs around the mountain and transforms the ski experience into an interactive venture that can be shared with friends and family on social platforms.
• GEA Farm Technologies, a global leader in livestock equipment solutions, deployed Zebra’s RTLS solution to meet the increasing demands for productivity and efficiency in the dairy industry. Farms can monitor real-time animal behavior through GEA’s CowView solution, which delivers data to mobile devices.
• Zebra Technologies deployed its own RTLS solution to streamline operations at its North American warehouse, which guides associates in picking items from various staging locations. As a result, Zebra has increased warehouse efficiencies as associates can quickly identify, locate and ship products to customers.

Zebra also showcased its seamless chip-based serialization system – a finalist for this year’s RFID Journal LIVE! “Best in Show” award. This new capability enables a simple yet highly accurate and reliable method of printing and encoding a serialized electronic product code (EPC) tag. Through chip-based serialization, brand owners can reduce costs by eliminating the infrastructure and services previously used to manage item level serial numbers and retailers can increase the accuracy of their inventory.
