REC Emerges as Two Independent Companies with New Names, Separate Brands and Web Sites

Following the listing of REC Solar ASA, Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (REC) emerges as two separate, independent companies: REC Solar ASA and REC Silicon ASA, with separate brands and websites.

The new company, REC Solar ASA, comprising solar panel operation and distribution, will be headquartered in Singapore. The REC brand is widely recognized in the solar industry for the high quality solar panels produced at the state-of-the-art integrated production plant in Singapore, and the REC brand will therefore follow REC Solar, including the logo and website platform. The company will be listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker RECSOL.

The remaining operations of REC has been renamed REC Silicon ASA, as this name better reflects the nature of the company’s business as a leading producer of advanced silicon materials, delivering high-quality polysilicon and silane gas to customers in the solar and electronics industry. REC Silicon will be headquartered in Moses Lake, WA, US, and will continue to be listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the same ticker as previously: REC.

With the offering and separate listing of REC Solar, and with establishing REC Silicon as a pure play silicon company and brand, REC has established two solid, independent companies, which are both well positioned to follow separate consolidation paths as industry leaders in their respective fields going forward.
