The COLAE project, together with CETEMMSA Technological Centre in Barcelona, is offering a practical training course on printed production technologies for organic and large area electronics. This will provide a thorough overview of printing techniques for electronics including ink characterization, inkjet printing, screen printing and doctor blade coating with direct hands-on experience of device fabrication in one of Europe’s leading research facilities.

The course will have a strong practical element, with more than half of the time spent in the laboratory learning how to fabricate your own electronic circuit on a flexible substrate and printing a sensor element on a non-woven fabric as well as demonstrations of roll-to-roll technologies. Through the course, participants will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and processing equipment at CETEMMSA.

Due to the high level of laboratory work, participation will be limited to a maximum of 15 persons, so early registration is suggested. The target audience for the course is primarily early stage researchers or those new to the area, particularly product developers, process engineers and researchers looking to bring printed electronics to flexible substrates and textiles. The course will be held Feb. 17-18, 2014
at CETEMMSA, Barcelona, Spain. The costs is €1,350, which includes fees and refreshments but excludes travel and accommodation.

This course forms part of the OLAE practical training course, which consists of five key modules covering the main OLAE devices and process: OLEDs, OPV, OLAE production technologies, organic TFTs and Smart Systems Integration. Participants can select any combination of modules to meet their training needs. Through the course, participants will have access to state-of-the-art OLAE laboratories and processing equipment at Europe’s leading research institutes as well as gaining an understanding of the key OLAE technologies.

The COLAE project is a coordination and support action in the FP7 programme involving 17 leading European OLAE research centers, which aims to speed up the commercialisation and adoption of OLAE technologies by promoting collaboration between industry clusters throughout Europe.
