Collaborated with NISSHA, TPK, Lenovo and 3M, as well as many consumer electronics companies leveraging ClearOhm material for products

Cambrios Technologies Corporation announced it has become the industry’s established brand for touch sensor technology, achieving significant market traction for its ClearOhm material in 2013. This past year alone, Cambrios collaborated with industry leaders including NISSHA, TPK and Lenovo, as well as many consumer electronics companies leveraging ClearOhm material for their products. Most recently, touch panel maker UniDisplay of Taiwan has commenced shipment of ClearOhm material-based touch sensors into mobile phone applications and technology giant 3M collaborated with Cambrios to produce silver nanowire film for touchscreens. “This past year was pivotal for Cambrios and our growth globally. It’s apparent – largely due to the brand recognition, and customers and partners we secured in 2013 – that Cambrios has established itself as the leader in the touchscreen market,” said John LeMoncheck, president and CEO at Cambrios Technologies. “Cambrios ended 2013 with several large customer wins and partnerships, achieving tremendous market momentum. In the coming years, the industry can expect the delivery of additional products such as efficient OLED and OPV devices, as well as flexible and wearable displays from tier one OEMs leveraging Cambrios’ ClearOhm ink.” Technology giants like 3M have selected Cambrios’ ClearOhm material because it can enable cost effective manufacturing of silver nanowire film to make advanced touch-enabled displays including those with curved or wrapped bezels. The extremely efficient roll-to-roll coating and patterning of silver nanowires from Cambrios enables advanced, highly responsive touch sensors. Cambrios enhances 3M’s ability to deliver large volumes of affordable touch sensor films to customers around the globe. Several sensor makers such as UniDisplay chose to collaborate with Cambrios because of its technology and market leadership. ClearOhm ink creates the industry’s highest optical quality transparent conductive films using single crystals of silver nanowires. Compared to indium tin oxide (ITO), historically the industry standard, ClearOhm material is significantly less expensive and more conductive. “3M’s collaboration with Cambrios will enable high-volume touchscreen applications for our global customers,” said Voyl Divljakovic, vice president and general manager, Electronic Solutions Division at 3M. “We have combined 3M’s expertise in optical films and Cambrios’ excellence with silver nanowire inks to create a high optical quality, roll-to-roll patterned touch sensor film for laptops, monitors, AIO and other applications.” “UniDisplay has been mass-producing best-in-class touch sensors including OFS (One-Film-Solution) for mobile devices since April 2013,” said S.Y. Lin, CEO of UniDisplay. “Cambrios was the perfect partner, as its ClearOhm product enables a very thin one-film-solution at a low cost while maintaining high levels of performance that consumers have come to expect in their smartphones and tablets.” Cambrios is showcasing its ClearOhm coating material, patterned films, touch panels and end products at CES 2014 in Cambrios’ exclusive suite at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. CES is being held in Las Vegas, NV at the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center, as well as the Las Vegas Hotel on Jan. 7-10, 2014.
