SolarWorld AG is again the winner of a quality study conducted by the Photon trade magazine. In the 2009 long-term test, SolarWorld’s solar power modules generated more electricity than all competitive products. In comparison with other modules, the SolarWorld modules produced up to 12 percent more power. On a worldwide basis, it is only Photon that conducts such yield tests under scientific conditions.

“The test results emphatically underline our top position in the international market,” says Frank H. Asbeck, chairman and CEO of SolarWorld AG. “We feel they confirm our strategy of only producing at sites that offer the highest quality, environmental and social standards – a guarantee for top quality made by SolarWorld.” The fully automated and fully integrated production of SolarWorld AG ensures a maximum of quality of these high performance modules. In 2010, the group has started to pass the trust in its products on to customers in the form of its unique linear performance warranty.

The group promotes Germany as a production location for the solar industry. In view of reductions in feed-in tariffs for solar power proposed by the Federal Ministry of the Environment and the resulting investment uncertainty for customers, the group sees the German solar industry in jeopardy. “The solar industry will not be able to cope with three such drastic cuts,” Asbeck emphasizes. “We must not tear down the stable and modern bridge to renewable energies.”
