Confidex announced the expansion of its high-performance Confidex Ironside family. With the new Confidex Ironside Slim, targeted to assets with limited tag attachment space, and with the new worldwide version of the most widely implemented Confidex Ironside tag, the challenges of global RFID implementations can be met even better than before.

The Confidex Ironside tag family is designed for industrial applications where mechanical durability and high RF performance of the tag are an absolute must. The Confidex Ironside UHF C1G2 RFID tag is designed to withstand the punishing elements from Southern America to Northern Siberia. The second member of the family, the Confidex Ironside Micro launched one year ago, is designed for smaller metal assets such as gas cylinders. Now with the newest addition to the family, the Confidex Ironside Slim, it is possible to have uncompromising tag performance on very narrow metal objects.

The newcomer in the Confidex Ironside family, Confidex Ironside Slim is tuned to have specifically good on-metal functionality combined with a slim structure. In addition to featuring the high level RF performance enclosed in the durable outdoor resistant encapsulation, one of the key design targets was to enable a relatively wide radiation pattern for the tag. This gives a higher level of flexibility and reliability in various reader setups, both with fixed readers and handhelds. This in turn enables more efficient and streamlined warehouse and logistics processes.

Another addition to the Ironside family is the new version of the Confidex Ironside UHF C1G2, a global wideband design of its predecessor. Both, this global version of Confidex Ironside as well as the Confidex Ironside Slim, perform up to 8-9m (26-29ft) thus being suitable for various industrial asset and returnable transit item management applications such as tracking train wagons, industrial metal pallets, stillages and intermediate bulk containers. The new products are available in volumes through the worldwide Confidex partner network.

“The new expansion of our worldwide proven Confidex Ironside family complements well our already comprehensive UHF industrial tag offering.” says Urs Andrin Lampe, vice president of marketing at Confidex. “Customers benefit from a broader set of options to fulfill effectively their high-performance identification needs for a wide range of assets in challenging environments. – With high quality and in global scale.”
