PolyIC will participate as an exhibitor in the SID International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition taking place May 15-20, 2011in Los Angeles, CA. PolyIC’s focus will be on showcasing the new PolyTC product line, the transparent and conducting films suitable for touch sensor applications.

Touch sensors are already widely used especially in mobile phones, and the market is expected to continue to grow strongly over the next years. This is where PolyIC’s transparent conducting films (PolyTC) offer an excellent basis for replacing the ITO films commonly used today. PolyTC films are perfectly qualified to meet the requirements of the strongly emerging multi-touch sensor industry thanks to their customizable layouts, which can be realized during production without complex additional steps. The PolyTC technology can be applied to both resistive and capacitive touch sensors.

The booming market for displays, touch screens, capacitive control elements and EMC shielding is driving the development of efficient new ways to manufacture transparent conductive films. The indium tin oxide (ITO) coatings currently in use are reaching their limits due to a scarcity of resources as well as the expensive process involved. Compared to conventional ITO technology, PolyTC transparent conductive films offer high transparency, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
