Zebra Technologies Corporation announced its inclusion in the 2011 RFID Brand Report, released by RFID Journal in association with Burnell Reports. Based on a survey of RFID Journal readers, respondents ranked Zebra as the top printer-encoder brand as well as the top active RFID brand. Zebra was the only company to earn the top rating in two separate product categories.

“We’re honored to be included in this report and recognized by our customers and channel partners as a top solutions provider across our product categories,” said Anders Gustafsson, Zebra Technologies CEO. “Zebra strives to provide the most trusted, innovative and reliable solutions for the RFID market based on the needs of our customers, and this recognition is a testament to that commitment.”

Fifty-nine percent of the respondents rated Zebra as excellent or very good in the printer-encoder category, 22 points above the number-two company and the only hardware vendor not to receive any “poor” ratings. Thirty-nine percent of the respondents perceived Zebra as excellent or very good in the active RFID category, 12 points higher than the second-highest-ranked company. Zebra also had the lowest rate of unfamiliarity among active RFID vendors.

Other Zebra rankings include:
• No. 8 among Top 20 most widely recognized RFID product and service providers.
• No. 5 among Top 20 most widely recognized RFID product and service providers by end users.
• No. 6 among companies considered to have the best RFID products.
• No. 9 among end-user rankings of best RFID product providers.

The 2011 RFID Brand Report was based on a survey of RFID Journal readers where a majority of the 501 respondents were end users or channel companies (55 percent). The survey was conducted in November – December 2010.
