Gov. Nixon Visits Brewer Science

Announces appointment of Jason Hall as director of Missouri Department of Economic Development

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon invited the business community and the media to the Brewer Science Printed Electronics Technology Center at the Jordan Valley Innovation Center to announce the appointment of Jason Hall, executive director of the Missouri Technology Corporation, as the new director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. In his new position, Hall will direct the Missouri Strategic Initiative for Economic Growth.

During the announcement, Gov. Nixon emphasized the importance of embracing science and technology as a strategy for creating the jobs of the future. Gov. Nixon also stressed the growth of manufacturing and exporting as a way to help keep Missouri’s economy moving forward. Gov. Nixon shared his confidence in the capability of Hall to provide leadership with a focus on creating opportunities and meeting those challenges with a well-trained workforce.

The Brewer Science facility at the Jordan Valley Innovation Center in Springfield, MO, provided an ideal location for this announcement. Dr. Terry Brewer, president of Brewer Science, is a strong advocate for entrepreneurship and innovation both statewide and nationally. Under Dr. Brewer’s leadership, Brewer Science has grown from three to approximately 300 employees.
