Blue Spark Technologies announced the appointment of Paul Tang to the position of quality and project manager. A battery technology industry veteran, Tang will be responsible for global oversight of Blue Spark’s carbon-zinc battery production operations to ensure quality standards are met.

Tang is an electrochemical engineer with more than 25 years of experience in battery and fuel cell technology research and development, as well as its commercialization and quality control. He holds five patents and, over the past decade, has provided consulting and product development services to numerous technology organizations.

Prior to that, Tang was responsible for R&D and quality for the Eveready Battery Company (now Energizer), where he led an international team in producing several generations of advanced battery technologies. Previously, he held similar positions with Ralston Energy Systems and Union Carbide Battery Division in Switzerland.

Tang’s educational achievements include a master’s degree in chemical engineering and Ph.D. in electrochemical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland, and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH.

“Paul Tang brings a remarkable depth and breadth of experience to the important work of ensuring the highest quality and reliability standards in the manufacture of our printed battery solutions,” said John Gannon, Blue Spark Technologies’ president and CEO. “His educational and professional credentials, plus his fluency in several languages, will be a real asset as Blue Spark continues ramp up our high-volume production capabilities to meet increased demand in the global marketplace. We are extremely pleased to welcome Paul to our team.”
