Will implement Hirsch-branded access control and security management systems at more than 200 locations nationwide

Identive Group, Inc. announced that it has been selected by a U.S. federal agency within the Department of Homeland Security to implement its Hirsch-branded access control and security management systems at the agency’s more than 200 locations nationwide. Identive’s systems will secure entry and exit points at the agency’s facilities and provide secure work environments for agency employees. The DHS agency selected Identive based on the company’s strong reputation as a provider of security solutions to the U.S. government and the fact that Identive’s access control systems support simultaneous use of the wide variety of federally-issued access credentials currently in use. This includes Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards used by federal employees, Common Access Cards (CAC) used by military personnel, as well as other, agency-specific credentials. “We have collaborated with this DHS agency over the last several years to develop the right combination of software, equipment and services to address the varied requirements of their dispersed locations. The success of this effort and the trust it has engendered were key to the agency’s selection of Identive’s security systems nationwide. By working with Identive as their sole solutions provider, the agency will achieve higher levels of interoperability while minimizing implementation time, training requirements and total system cost,” said Lars Suneborn, director government and standards for Identive’s Identity Management & Cloud Solutions division. “We are pleased to add this agency to the growing list of U.S. intelligence, law enforcement and diplomatic customers that have standardized on Identive’s systems to protect their facilities.” The Identive access control and security management systems selected by this DHS agency are marketed under the company’s Hirsch brand and include Velocity management software, DIGI*TRAC controllers, and patented ScramblePad readers. The systems will be delivered and installed over a four-year period through Identive’s national network of channel partners.
