Polyonics, a manufacturer of high temperature, harsh environment label and tag materials for the electronics, electrical, aerospace and automotive manufacturing, introduced a broad range of innovative products and will have them on display at Label Expo in Brussels Belgium. XF-300 is a 5-mil nylon cloth label, which can be printed with thermal transfer, dot matrix and even with a ballpoint pen. Its flexibility and chemical resistance enables the XF-300 to be used for wire, cable and terminal block identification in electrical applications. Its uniqueness also allows use in clinical laboratories for vial and slide identification. XF-509 is a 1 mil black polyimide label material, which can be printed with a white thermal transfer ribbon to give an aesthetically pleasing, but fully functional barcode label on a black or dark background. It is especially useful in situations where the reflectance from standard white labels can cause “ghosting” effects, which can interfere with the utility of flat screens and other devices. Polyonics’ XF-596 & XF-597, 1 & 2 mil polyimide films are coated with a high opacity, gloss white topcoat specifically designed for 600 DPI thermal transfer printing of high density, 2D barcodes. When matched with the proper thermal ribbon, labels printed on these products will withstand the high temperatures, harsh chemicals, and solvents typically used in circuit board manufacturing processes. Polyonics was recently awarded the Circuits Assembly New Product Introduction Award for labeling, with the introduction of their Product Sentry labels for brand protection and anti-counterfeiting. These new Polyonics products will assist brand owners to implement track and trace brand protection strategies, i.e. “track and trace now begins with WIP,” to enable product authentication to be unequivocally linked to specific product identification, by using existing barcode data collection systems. Also on display will be the XF-800 series pressure sensitive aluminum label andtag materials, which can withstand temperatures up to 600°C. Labels produced from these materials can be applied to hot aluminum, steel, or other metals and withstand the high temperatures, or annealing or in rolling mills. Polyonics will also exhibit its full line of REACH anndRoHS compliant label materials, for electronics manufacturers, which include the Thermogard label materials which resist the high temperatures of soldering operations, as well chemicals, saponifiers, and cleaners used in electronics manufacturing operations. Moreover, on exhibit will be Polyonics’ Tribogard static dissipative materials, which comply with static dissipative standards globally.
