Quantenna Communications, Inc. announced that it has added to its Series C funding round with a new investor Swisscom, Switzerland’s leading telecommunications provider. The Series C round also includes previous announced investors Grazia Equity, Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners and Venrock Associates.

With this additional funding investment, Quantenna plans to expand its technology leadership position in whole-home 4×4 MIMO wireless networking with dynamic digital beamforming and continue to expand its field trials with leading customers. To date, Quantenna has raised more than $44 million.

“Our investment in Quantenna Communications underscores our commitment to reliably deliver wireless and quadruple play telecommunications services to our customers in Europe,” said Pär Lange, investment manager at Swisscom. “We look forward to further collaboration with Quantenna to explore these advance technologies and solutions.”

“Swisscom’s investment in Quantenna Communications is one of our most significant commitments, which will enable us to deliver high performance and reliable wireless connections for media streaming of high definition (HD) video throughout the whole home,” said Behrooz Rezvani, Quantenna’s president and chairman. “Our joint collaboration is a great example of how Wi-Fi wireless coverage can be enhanced and improved by using Quantenna’s 4×4 MIMO solution with digital beamforming technology.”
