The world leader in commercialising DSC (dye solar cell) technology and products, Dyesol Limited has won the prestigious 2009 Sustainable Small Company of the Year Award for developing innovative technology, which when commercialized will give homeowners and businesses access to cheaper solar energy.

Now in its ninth year, the awards recognize best practice in corporate sustainability across Australian Stock Exchange-listed companies.

“To be nominated for and to win this highly coveted award is deeply gratifying for Dyesol. We are honored to receive independent recognition of our efforts,” Dyesol’s executive chairman Richard Caldwell commented.

Winning the 2009 Sustainable Small Company of the Year Award caps a successful year for Dyesol which also won the ACT Chief Minister’s 2009 Export Award in the Small to Medium Manufacturer’s Category in October 2009.

As a sustainable company, significant highlights for Dyesol in 2009 include:

• Publishing the company’s first sustainability report
• Joining the All Ordinaries Index
• Having lead delegate representation at the G8 Renewable Energy Summit
• Achieving a Prime Rating from OEKOM Research Munich, for corporate responsibility.

Most importantly, Dyesol is committed to building on its 2009 business successes in 2010. “Dyesol is in the sweet spot of the solar value chain,” Caldwell said. Not only do we expect to make significant steps with our existing partners, including Corus, Merck, Timo Technology and Permasteelisa, we also expect to announce other key product partnerships with major global companies.”
