Komori will exhibit at drupa 2024 in Düsseldorf, Germany after an eight-year hiatus. During these eight years, the speed of social change has increased, consumption patterns have shifted, and outlooks have undergone significant transformations. “We are determined to evolve towards the future while adapting to the changes of the times,” said Satoshi Mochida, president and representative director. “Over the next 100 years, we will continue to develop new technologies and products that surpass expectations along with appropriate and prompt service to deliver Kando ‘beyond expectations.’ At drupa 2024, under the theme of Connected Automation, Komori will promote automation that maximizes customer value and propose solutions that are friendly to both people and the environment in order to make the future sustainable. In addition, Komori will announce new models within its portfolio of offset presses and digital machines. Exhibition Theme: Connected Automation The printing industry has undergone rapid change in recent years. The influences of social media, online advertising, rising raw materials and energy prices as well as a shortage of labor, have become critical issues. Moreover, because of spreading global environmental concerns, reducing environmental impact, decarbonization, and waste management have become urgent challenges. To address these worldwide issues head-on, Komori will show a wide range of technology with the theme of Connected Automation. Connected Automation is a method that enhances the automation of operations by establishing a production site that links different devices from many sources and removes barriers between processes. The core system, KP-Connect, facilitates visibility, automation, and streamlining of the production site by connecting all equipment, from MIS to prepress, press, and postpress systems. This leads to the optimization of the entire business, ultimately maximizing productivity and profitability. Furthermore, Komori’s printing presses have been updated to have a low environmental impact. Through improved controls, automation of quality inspections, robot logistics, as well as energy saving and paper waste reduction technologies, Komori promotes the construction of a smart factory that features safe and environmentally friendly operations for everyone. At drupa 2024, Komori will show for the first time a new environmentally friendly offset press and a next generation digital printing machineVisitors will see a seamlessly connected smart factory utilizing Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) to link prepress and press as well as postpress that incorporates MBO folding machines and the MBO CoBo-Stack collaborative robot. Print technology will continue to evolve. Komori, with expertise in offset and digital print, postpress, and the technology to connect them all, will lead the industry with ultimate solutions that protect the precious time of printing companies and the environment while enhancing client trust. Komori, having started running to the next century, will take everyone to a new stage.
