Siegwerk announces the launch of its new Business Partner Code of Conduct.

As a family-owned business with a history spanning two centuries, Siegwerk recognizes its re-sponsibility to uphold human rights and safeguard the environment. This new Code of Conduct is a testament to Siegwerk’s dedication to building resilient operations and supply chains, re-flecting both legal obligations and moral imperatives.

The code is rooted in Siegwerk’s Human Rights Guiding Principles, emphasizing risk acknowl-edgment, knowledge seeking, collaboration, stakeholder focus, and continuous improvement. It sets clear expectations for suppliers and business partners, encouraging transparency and pro-active engagement to address human rights and environmental risks.

Siegwerk has developed a “Siegwerk Sustainability Checklist” to identify and address high-priority issues. Partners are encouraged to disclose any severe non-compliance issues and work collaboratively with Siegwerk to develop action plans and timelines for improvement.

“We value transparency and support our business partners in addressing human and environ-mental issues in our shared supply chain” said Cathleen Hansohm, global supplier sustainability manager.

Immediate action is required for severe breaches, with a focus on improvement for affected stakeholders. Siegwerk also expects its partners to extend these principles throughout their supply chains, fostering a culture of ethical and sustainable practices.

“Our new Business Partner Code of Conduct is a significant step towards ensuring that our val-ues of sustainability and ethical practices are shared across our entire supply chain. We invite our business partners to join the journey towards a packaging industry, which is truly sustaina-ble for people and the planet – today and in the future,” said Alina Marm, head of global sus-tainability and circular economy & human rights officer at Siegwerk.
