The central focus will be on proven 955LED-LM screen printing inks and a new low migration LED screen printing series.

RUCOINX will present its environmentally and consumer- friendly range of printing inks for the decoration of all types of plastics at K 2022 (Hall 4/Stand B08), the leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, Oct. 19-26 in Düsseldorf, Germany. With a brand-new logo featuring the addition of INX lettering, the Eppstein, Germany-based printing ink specialist is now affiliated with global leader Sakata INX Corporation. The central focus will be on proven 955LED-LM screen printing inks and a new low migration LED screen printing series. The latter is for printing on plastic hollow bodies, which is about to be launched to the market. Special attention will also be paid to the company’s solvent-based pad printing inks with the T200, T120 and T35 series. Ink series 955LED-LM, developed for printing on plastic tubes made of polyethylene, is still a benchmark product on the market today. The low migration, silicone-free inks represent a pure LED curing system, and meet the stringent requirements of Swiss Ordinance SR 817.023.21 regarding the EuPIA Suitability List of Photoinitiators and the Nestlé Guidance Note on Packaging Inks. The series is also approved for use in printing onto the outer surface of plastic packaging for the food and cosmetics industries. The inks’ completely silicone-free formulation makes them ideally suited for combination with one another, as well as with other ink systems and varnishes and allowing for embossing. Although the 955LED-LM series is a pure LED curing system – meaning that additional UV curing is not required – curing by means of conventional UV technology is also possible, if preferred. Visitors will also be given a preview of a new low migration LED screen printing ink series, which is about to be launched and has been developed especially for printing on beverage bottles and hollow bodies made of polyolefins. From a regulatory point of view, the new ink series meets the latest requirements for printing onto the outer surface of food and cosmetic packaging. In addition to the two aforementioned low migration ink series for hollow plastic bodies, RUCOINX will also present other ink systems at K 2022. These inks meet particularly high requirements in terms of environmental compatibility and consumer friendliness, and are also approved for use on the outer surface of food packaging. First and foremost are the one- and two-component inks of series T200 for both screen and pad printing. They are designed for use on a wide range of plastic materials used in the packaging, advertising, electrical, home appliances and automobile industries. These high-gloss, scratch and abrasion resistant inks are free of phthalates and BPA, as well as cyclohexanone, butyl glycolate, aromatic solvents, barium, fluorine and bromine, and stand out with their excellent mechanical and chemical resistance levels. The one-and two-components inks of series T120 are especially for rotary pad printing. Their main field of application is the high-speed decoration of bottle caps made of pretreated polypropylene and polyethylene. T120 inks are free from phthalates, halogens and BPA, as well as cyclohexanone, butyl glycolate, aromatic solvents and barium. The pad printing series T35 inks were developed with the highly sensitive field of toy decoration in mind. These inks meet all the stringent demands specified in the current European standard EN 71-3 Safety of toys – Part 3 Migration of certain elements. Free of phthalates, halogens and BPA, they do not contain any cyclohexanone, butyl glycolate, aromatic solvents or barium. The inks feature high elasticity and are suited for extremely high printing speeds. RUCOINX will also offer the low migration 085UV-LM ink series, which was designed particularly for the decoration of cups, buckets, and lids made of polyolefins and polystyrene using UV dry offset printing. These inks offer excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance, and enable high printing speeds to be achieved with their high reactivity. This ink series adheres to Nestlé standards and is certified as low migration inks by an independent testing institute.
