The field marketing manager will discuss solvent inks for high speed flexo printing.
June 9, 2015
By: Catherine Diamon
Director, Executive Internal Communications, GAF
Sun Chemical’s Jim Felsberg will speak about solvent inks for high speed flexo printing during the 2015 Harper Roadshow – 360° at the Double Tree Hotel in Rochester, NY on June 11. Felsberg, a field marketing manager at Sun Chemical, joins a variety of other speakers during the one day complimentary seminar who will discuss what it takes to produce their products and how printers can effectively get the most out of them. The program runs from 8 AM to 3:30 PM with Felsberg speaking at 9:30-10:15 AM. “The needs and requirements of flexible packaging continues to evolve,” says Tony Renzi, vice president, Product Management of Packaging Inks, North American Inks, Sun Chemical. “From high speed/high quality printing demands and the growing trend toward tighter regulations on food contact packaging, to brand owner requirements for packaging that is unique and pops off the shelf, converters need solutions to meet the changing demands in the industry. We look forward to using the Harper Roadshow as a venue where we can help converters understand how Sun Chemical can help with their packaging needs.” During his presentation, Felsberg will talk about Sun Chemical’s SunStrato family of inks for flexographic printing on polypropylene and polyethylene films at high speeds. Depending on the print job, Felsberg will explain which types of SunStrato inks in the family best meet individual needs. Some of the inks, such as SunStrato SB Velocity XV-98, offer maximum color strength, while others like SunStrato SB Velocity Sunfine, are specifically designed for extrusion lamination with a primer. Others like SunStrato Sunester laminating solvent-based inks provide low solvent retention, excellent adhesive and extrusion bonds, and are suitable for use with conventional and high-performance printing plates. Felsberg will explain how the clean printing and film versatility of Sun Chemical’s SunStrato family of inks make it an ideal choice for printing on items such as pouches and various laminated bag structures for a variety of markets.
