EDX inks, Triangle Eco Bulk ink delivery system add new dimensions to INX Digital’s Green lineup

The price of gold continues to rise, and so does INX Digital’s reputation as an industry innovator. The proof can be found at the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA) annual event, which runs Oct. 13-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. INX Digital (booth 3249) is a Gold sponsor of the SGIA Expo and will use it as a coronation for the new Triangle EDX inks and Triangle Eco Bulk ink delivery system. Both products are new dimensions to INX Digital’s Green lineup. EDX represents a new line of ECO solvent inks, and its North American introduction at SGIA marks the first time INX Digital’s Triangle brand will offer a color and chemically compatible ECO product for the alternative market. With dual compatibility, users can exchange one cartridge at a time without wasting ink since it does not require flushing. New color profiles also are not necessary in order to obtain the same color as OEM inks when printing. With a nickel-free formulation that boasts of fast drying with low odor, EDX is HAPS- and TAPS-free and provides a significant cost savings option when compared to Roland Soljet series printers ECO inks. Eco Bulk is not only a new type of ink delivery system that is easy to use, but gives a clear indication of where the future is heading. It is comprised of one box of 100 percent recycled material instead of five, 440 ml cartridges. The ink is housed within a foil bag and once emptied, the bag is disposed of and replaced – a much more sustainable approach compared to plastic. The foil bag can contain up to two liters of ink, which is double the current industry standard of one liter packaging and results in less waste. However, 440 ml cartridges will remain available for customers using less ink. “The time has come for products like EDX inks and Eco Bulk. It just makes sense,” said Karla Witte, vice president of product development for INX Digital International. “For large print shops, the amount of waste in cartridges is amazingly high and that doesn’t include shipping costs and the amount of landfill space that is needed. When you analyze the numbers, both products will have a dramatic impact in the amount of waste that gets reduced.”
