Moe Rahmeh, a technical manager for Sun Chemical in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, region, received the 2012 National Association of Print Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM) Pioneer Award, which honors longevity and service in the print industry, committee work, technical contributions and service to associations. With only 300 people who have received the award in its 56-year existence, the Pioneer Award is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the ink manufacturing industry. “Moe is a man who has given his life to not just Sun Chemical but to the advancement and enhancement of this industry,” said Jarred Carter, director of customer technical service, North American Inks, Sun Chemical. “His commitment and his sacrifice make him more than worthy of this prestigious award.” During his career, Mr. Rahmeh has made numerous contributions to the technical and business sectors of Sun Chemical. He is responsible for the in-plant operations throughout the central U.S. and at Sun Chemical’s Grand Prairie, TX location, where he has maintained outstanding safety records during his 25-year career. Mr. Rahmeh has developed national ink systems and nationally-supplied coatings, recruited and trained a team of service technicians in all printing processes to service all technical needs in the U.S. Central Region, and has developed Sun Chemical’s best practice standard operating procedures for duties, including batch loading, quality control, and ink delivery. Aside from his work at Sun Chemical, Mr. Rahmeh has served several associations, including NAPIM, NPIRI, FTA, TLMI and GAA. He was a guest speaker at events hosted by the Liquid Ink Council and Harper. He has worked with PCMC as well as the Extractable/Leachable task forces for the pharmaceutical market. “Moe has always been a strong supporter of NAPIM,” said George Fuchs, NAPIM director of regulatory affairs and technology. “His technical contributions to the NAPIM/NPIRI summer course and also to other allied graphic arts trade associations are just a small sample of things he has done for our organization. His accomplishments combined with his career-long support of the graphic arts industry groups and NAPIM, is what made him an outstanding candidate for this award.”
