KODA Distribution Group announced Joel W. Jones as their new Chief Commercial Officer. Mr. Jones’ position will cover many critical duties at KODA Distribution Group, including managing and enhancing KDG’s key supplier relationships and working with the five independent, regional company’s sales organizations on best practices in the specialty selling process. As CCO, Mr. Jones will be managing current suppliers, developing new strategies for filling product gaps and working on building upon KDG’s already expansive portfolio. In addition, He will take on the responsibility of managing the Commercial Excellence Program for KDG. This includes working with each KDG company’s sales force and management team to determine how to better serve their key customers. When asked about his new position, Mr. Jones stated that he’s looking forward to “not only helping KODA Distribution Group grow, but also to build upon our strong reputation for being the leading specialty chemical distributor, for both customers and suppliers. It’s a wonderful company with great people and exceptional capabilities, and I’m excited to be a member of this talented team.” “Joel will play an instrumental role in strengthening relationships by working closely with our key suppliers and sales organization to ascertain exactly what is most important to our suppliers and customers,” Frank Bergonzi, president and CEO of KDG, said. “With his impressive background and extensive knowledge in chemical distribution, he fills a vital role for us at KDG.” Mr. Jones spent the past 29 years at The Dow Chemical Co., where he held various positions including Northeast regional sales manager, product channel manager and, most recently, served as a global corporate account executive. He graduated with a BS in chemical engineering from University of Missouri in 1984. He is a board member of the Société de Chimie Industrielle and a past president of the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies association. Headquartered in Stamford, CT, KODA Distribution Group is a leader in specialty chemical distribution, serving customers in CASE as well as construction, care, lubrication, ink and plastics end markets.
