Envoy Direct Series is designed for direct-to-patient shipments, reduces shipping costs

Sonoco ThermoSafe, a unit of Sonoco and a leading global provider of temperature assurance packaging, has launched a series of shipping solutions for temperature-sensitive products shipped direct-to-patient. The Envoy Direct Series has been optimized to reduce dimensional weight, lowering total shipping costs and improving operational efficiency in specialty pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy and pharmacy benefit management environments. This product line becomes available in advance of new dimensional weight-based shipping policies that take effect at the beginning of 2015 for several major shippers. “The Envoy Direct line of temperature-controlled solutions was designed in accordance with market feedback,” said Marianne Hoonakker-Kelly, business development and market manager. “The refrigerant component configurations remain the same for all seasons, which simplifies the assembly. The Envoy Direct series is the first optimized line for direct-to-patient distribution that balances total cost, operational needs and product protection.” The Envoy Direct series maintains refrigerated temperatures for a duration of one day and is tested to the ISTA 7E profile.
