Sun Chemical Ink (GPI) has announced the implementation of an updated web site for the North American market at www.sunchemicalink.com. “We recognize that most visitors to the Sun Chemical Ink (GPI) web site are looking for specific information. This redesign was done to make it easier for customers and interested readers to find what they seek,” said Chris Morrissey, vice president, sales and marketing. “The Sun Chemical Ink (GPI) web site includes design elements that represent the best-in-class, not only for the ink industry, but for all manufacturing companies that use the Internet to reach their customers,” Mr. Morrissey added. The site is organized to follow the user’s thought process, making navigation easier, said Jim Bishop, marketing services manager and project leader. It also presents information on products and services at several levels to match the reader’s depth of interest. With the emphasis on the ink users’ work processes, visitors can quickly locate descriptions and application guides for Sun Chemical’s extensive product line of inks, coatings and adhesives for nearly all printing applications. Access to copies of recent printed advertisements for many products are a click away. Readers can quickly download or print .pdf files provided at the web site. Those who wish to receive printed materials from Sun Chemical need only fill in a few fields on a form to have an automated fulfillment service send the information they requested. The site also includes interactive, on-line versions of Sun Chemical’s photo-illustrated troubleshooting guides for most printing processes. These copyrighted guides allow readers to type in a description of their pressroom problem and receive a list of possible causes and recommended solutions. Among other features, a pressman’s magnifying loupe on the home page gives viewers a close-up look at Sun Chemical’s newest products, upcoming industry trade shows and newsletters that address regulatory issues affecting the printing and ink industries. Because GPI is a division of the world’s largest manufacturer of inks and organic pigments, its site allows users to effortlessly link to web sites of Sun Chemical operations around the globe. An interactive map can help customers locate the nearest Sun Chemical branch or manufacturing facility to meet their needs.
