Sakata INX Corporation announces that its subsidiary in the United Kingdom, INX International UK Ltd., was awarded with Silver Medal in the sustainability assessment conducted by EcoVadis.
Silver medal reflects the score earned in the EcoVadis assessment that is placed in the top 25% of suppliers rated by the organization.
EcoVadis uses a global cloud platform to assess the sustainability of more than 100,000 companies across more than 200 industry categories in more than 175 countries. The assessment focuses on four themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement , and is evaluated according to industry, country and company size by international experts.
SAKATA INX Group takes the initiative to strengthen its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and sustainability efforts by emphasizing the global environment and local community.
“We understand the importance of developing a clear CSR strategy as a forward thinking and socially accountable business. Central to this was the use of EcoVadis as an established and recognized framework,” acknowledged Elizabeth Smith, QHSE manager for INX International UK. “It provides INX and our stakeholders with independent validation of our achievements and what we have implemented. More importantly, it provides a clear feedback report which identifies areas to drive future improvement.”
The organization’s mission is to provide reliable sustainability ratings enabling all companies to reduce risk, drive improvement, and accelerate positive impact on the planet and society. The EcoVadis website also indicates research shows that 85% of consumers are more likely to buy from a company with a reputation for sustainability.
This aligns with the commitment INX and parent company, SAKATA INX Group, have devoted to sustainability for two decades. In 2020, a Coloring a Safe and Sustainable Future (CSSF) model was introduced to help brand owners, converters, printers and others involved in the packaging industry better understand INX’s sustainability position and future views. In the same year INX Europe joined CEFLEX, the European-based flexible packaging consortium that promotes a circular economy through sustainability practices.
“Delivering innovative, safe and sustainable solutions that enhance the customer experience is our top priority,” said Renee Schouten, INX VP of ,arketing. “We want consumers, brand owners and customers to feel confident in their product choices. That’s why our products are developed to have minimal impact on the environment without sacrificing machine, processing and end-use performance. To assure minimal impact, we strive to use renewable, natural-based raw materials from ethical and sustainably managed sources for our products.”
