Comments: As it heads into its second century, Nazdar is coming off of a strong year in 2022, as the company maintains its leadership in the screen and digital ink segments.
“2022 was a strong year for Nazdar, considering the continued logistics issues and marginal economic environment,” said Richard Bowles, Nazdar’s president and CEO. “Similar to previous years, Nazdar strength in producing UV-LED curing inks and coating continues to provide excellent sales and profit.”
Nazdar was founded in 1922, and Bowles noted that the company celebrated its centennial in style, with a company-wide event at their Shawnee, Kansas US headquarters.
A key move occurred when Nazdar brought in Shaun Pan as its chief strategy officer, with the goal of developing and implementing Nazdar’s strategic planning process and marketing activities. “Nazdar added Shaun Pan as chief strategy officer to guide the company to an even brighter future,” Bowles noted.
Another highlight was Nazdar being awarded the Silver Medal for sustainability from EcoVadis, signifying that Nazdar now ranks among some of the leading companies in the world in terms of sustainability and environmental protection.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been recognized for our sustainable efforts,” said Evan Benbow, VP of R&D at Nazdar. “We are very proud of our various environmental programs and how they have helped both the business and our customers; to have this commitment recognized by a leading global organization such as EcoVadis is a significant endorsement.”
The raw material situation improved, although there remain challenges. Bowles noted that Nazdar continues to meet these challenges successfully.
“Although much improved, Nazdar continues to find ways to overcome raw material shortages and logistical challenges,” Bowles observed.
As for 2023, Bowles reports that it looks like a good year for growth at Nazdar.
“Q1 2023 started off a little soft, but signs of improvement are pointing to a strong finish for the year,” Bowles concluded.
