Net sales for fiscal year 2018 were ¥42,628 million, a 0.5% decrease from 2017, and operating income was ¥1,238 million, a 15.4% decline from 2017. Led by its Zipset offset ink line, the company held its own in the offset ink segment in spite of the market’s continued contraction, while new environmentally friendy gravure inks helped make up for increasing competition in that field.
A global leader in offset and gravure inks, Tokyo Printing Ink Mfg. Co., Ltd. was founded in 1923. The company has five manufacturing plants in Japan: Saitama-Yoshinohara, Saitama-Hanyu, Gifu, Osaka and Fukuoka. In 1987, the company expanded into the US, added a subsidiary in Shanghai in 2006 and its first overseas production site, Tokyo Ink (Thailand), in 2015.
