While the Chicago Printing Ink Production Club (CPIPC) is best known for its service to the Chicago and Midwestern graphic arts, ink and chemical industries, the CPIPC is also dedicated to helping within the community. That dedication came to the fore again in early August, when the CPIPC gathered food, clothing and toiletries for the Feed the Hungry program at the First Ascension Parish in Oak Park, IL.
This marked the second consecutive year that the CPIPC participated in the Feed the Hungry program, buying items to donate as well as providing meals. Luigi Ribaudo of Sun Chemical, who served as CPIPC’s president in 2007, was among the club members who went to the church to work with the homeless.
“We shopped for and donated food, socks, underwear, T-shirts, and many toiletry items,” Mr. Ribaudo said. “The event had a turnout of approximately 30 homeless or needy people that all got fed a hot meal and left with needed clothing and other items.”
Mr. Ribaudo was joined by Brian Chwierut of Sun Chemical, CPIPC president Kim Terrulli of Kustom Blending, Amy Radostits and Nancy Gonzalez of Radchem Products. He said that this will continue to be an annual event.
“This will be an ongoing part of the CPIPC’s way to give back to our community, and we are looking forward to doing this again,” Mr. Ribaudo noted.
