Cognis Corporation announced that Christopher Toomey has been promoted to regional vice president of the company’s Functional Products division.
Mr. Toomey’s responsibilities include general management oversight of all business activities in the region related to the company’s Functional Products division targeting the adhesives, agrosolutions, consumer coatings, emulsion polymerization, fermentation specialties, graphic arts, industrial coatings, ion-transfer technology, polymer building blocks and synlubes technology markets in Cognis’ NAFTA region.
Mr. Toomey was previously Cognis’ business director of Paint, Coatings and Inks. He also has held positions as business director of Synthetic Lubricants, vice president of human resources for the Americas and director of global compensation and benefits.
Mr. Toomey has also held management positions with Henkel Corporation and was a consultant with Towers Perrin. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and his MBA from Temple University.
