Chemidex Inc., a Kansas-based provider of electronic information retrieval services for the chemical industry, has added two officers to its management team. Jim Dodd, a former telecom and Internet industry executive, was named president and COO, and Matt Perry, an early designer of the Chemidex system, was named vice president operations.
“Jim and Matt bring the kind of leadership experience and depth that Chemidex needs at this point in our evolution,” said Bruce Ianni, founder and CEO of Chemidex. “Jim has a successful track record of developing and growing businesses in the technology sector, with tremendous experience in strategic planning, marketing, product development and finance. Matt possesses a deep knowledge of our customer and technology, and as a former chemist brings unique insight to our operations.”
Mr. Dodd was president and CEO of NIC, Inc., an Internet services company serving the government sector, from 1999 to 2002. During his tenure, the company completed a successful initial public offering. Mr. Dodd spent 14 years with Sprint prior to his NIC stint, managing several consumer business operations including leading Sprint’s entry into consumer Internet access. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard.
Mr. Perry has been marketing manager for Chemidex’s North American operations for more than three years, and has been instrumental in building the company’s information retrieval services.
