Also known as non-impact printing. The image is directly reproduced from digital files, and the ink is jetted onto the substrate. There are two major varieties of digital printing: continuous inkjet, in which the ink is deflected to create droplets that form the image; and drop-on-demand, in which the ink is jetted through particular electronic impulses.
