Sun Chemical has appointed John Law to the position of managing director, Screen and Circuits, Europe.
As well as taking full accountability for Sun Chemical’s European Screen, Circuits and Industrial Inks businesses, Mr. Law retains his responsibilities for the global Digital division. He takes over from Richard Martin, who will now oversee Sun Chemical’s global Toners business until his retirement at the end of this year.
Mr. Law joined Sun Chemical in a technical capacity in 1980 after graduating from University of Bath with a BSc (honors) in chemistry and later received a master’s degree in business administration from Canterbury Business School at the University of Kent. He moved to the U.S. in 1994 as executive vice president for Toners at a time when the division was growing rapidly. On returning to the UK in 1997, Mr. Law was appointed general manager, Screen Inks, UK, and then to general manager, Digital, in 2001.
“John Law has been an employee for a number of years and, during this time, has demonstrated both a talent for commercial affairs and a high level of business acumen that has allowed him to thrive at Sun Chemical,” David Meldram, corporate senior vice president and president, Sun Chemical European Inks, said. “We are delighted John has agreed to step up to this challenging role, and his new team in the European Screen and Circuits division is looking forward to welcoming him and supporting him in his day-to-day business affairs.”
