A new “high-tech” black ink, which offers users superior printing performance, is the first in a series of new inks being introduced to the market by Domino Printing Sciences over the next few months.
The new ink, 291BK, is the first to be developed using new Domino technical innovation and has been introduced in response to worldwide customer demand for ease of use in relation to inks. 291BK is the first Domino ink to enable customers to use an ink reservoir for 2,000 hours without the need for an air dryer. This is achieved through use of a dye, which is specifically designed for use in continuous ink jet printers combined with Domino’s innovation in the use of binders within the ink.
Customers will benefit from this significant development, including reduced service and maintenance costs, enhanced ease of use and even more reliable operation of their Domino printers.
BK291 also boasts a range of other benefits, including excellent contrast on a wide range of substrates, significant safety benefits as it uses a polymer binder rather than nitrocellulose and stable performance over a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions.
“This is a very exciting new ink, both in terms of user benefits and the technological advances that have made them possible,” said Andrew Gunton, fluids product manager at Domino. “Not only will it reduce customers’ operating costs, it also offers them superior print performance. Its ability to operate in a wide range of conditions and across a broad spectrum of substrates enhances its appeal still further.”
