Precisia LLC, a subsidiary of Flint Ink and a leading developer of advanced printed electronics technologies, announced its partnership with Thin Battery Technology (TBT) to more efficiently capture the rapidly expanding market for ultra-thin batteries. TBT utilizes technology that is licensed from Eveready Battery Company, Inc.
At less than one millimeter thick, ultra-thin batteries are ideal for smart labels, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and active packaging applications that require an external power source. They serve as an affordable replacement for button batteries in such diverse applications as greeting cards, cereal box giveaways, printed board games, point-of-purchase displays and credit cards.
“Our partnership with TBT is critical to broadening the availability of this emerging technology,” said Jim Rohrkemper, president of Precisia. “Our strategy of developing applications for ultra-thin batteries utilizing our high-speed printing technologies and advanced printed components will provide customers with an affordable product that is thinner and flexible.”
“We are committed to serving brand owners, manufacturers, converters and other companies poised to take advantage of this technology,” said Gerry Weimann, president of TBT. “Our partnership with Precisia will enable customers to have the distinct advantage of working directly with an integrated team and to obtain product samples in reasonable quantities for testing new uses and optimal battery configurations for their needs.”
