Flint Ink Latin America Corp. has relocated its Latin American headquarters to Santiago, Chile. The decision comes after a corporate initiative to provide tailored customer service support to address the specific regional needs of graphic communications, packaging and converting professionals in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
In addition, the move from Miami to Chile resulted in strategic shifts of positions within Flint Ink’s Latin American group.
“We value our existing relationships in the region and we are committed to bringing global knowledge to local markets,” said Fernando Távara, vice president, Flint Ink Latin America North. “The most effective way for us to service the Latin American market and help customers develop new business is by focusing on their specific cultural, business, product and service needs to provide the high quality service our customers require.”
Claudio Labbe, who serves as vice president of Flint Ink Latin America South and is based in Santiago, notes that approximately 60 percent of the company’s business is in the south.
“The relocation of our headquarters to Santiago brings us closer to our South American customer base,” said Mr. Labbe.
The company has also announced several organizational changes within its operations in support of this strategic move. Teofilo Neves has been named vice president of manufacturing, Flint Ink Latin America. A veteran of the printing industry, Neves will also continue to serve as the company’s general manager in Brazil. Oscar Brain has been appointed vice president of human resources for the region. He was previously with Dow Chemical. Stuart Chandler, former manager of liquid inks in the northern part of Latin American, has been promoted to director of the liquid inks business segment for Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Dominican Republic.
“Latin America is a continually growing market in the printing industry, and our customers require increasingly sophisticated products and services to support their business,” said Mr. Labbe. “The relocation of our Latin American headquarters and leadership by experienced personnel is critical to providing the highest possible service to the region.”
