Environmental Inks and Coatings Corporation (EIC), Morganton, NC (www.envinks.com), has signed an agreement to acquire Arcar Graphics, a subsidiary of Flint Ink North America Corporation. The transaction is expected to close the end of August 2003.
Arcar Graphics, headquartered in West Chicago, IL, manufactures water-based and UV-curable flexographic and screen printing inks. It became a unit of Flint Ink when Flint purchased the Alper Ink Group, LLC in 2000.
For the foreseeable future, there will be no change in customer products. To optimize service and delivery, Arcar customers will benefit from the existing EIC branch distribution network. Currently, EIC has eight locations: Worcester, MA; Baltimore, MD; Atlanta, GA; Cincinnati, OH; Chicago, IL; Ontario, CA; Dallas, TX; and Morganton, NC.
According to EIC President Ed Redman, “The synergies resulting from this acquisition will enhance customer service, expand product development capabilities and ensure the widest selection of high quality water-based and energy curable products for printers throughout the Americas and Europe.”
Environmental Inks and Coatings is privately owned and among the top 20 international ink companies. EIC has 230 employees based in nine locations, including the latest facility in Sneek, The Netherlands. Founded in 1979 by Mr. Redman, EIC specializes in high quality water-based and energy curable inks. Environmental Ink services the flexible packaging, folding carton, display corrugated, envelope, poly cup and label printing markets.
