Eastman Chemical Company (www.eastman.com) honored one of its own by naming its Pleasant Prairie, WI, technical center for Lud Horn, former senior vice president of R&D at Eastman Resins, at a ceremony on June 26.
The dedication celebrated the recently retired Mr. Horn’s achievements over a more than 40-year career. Mr. Horn is credited with developing new alkyds and heatset vehicles that have changed the way printing is done today.
Speaking at the dedication of the Lud P. Horn Technical Center, Mr. Horn said: “My greatest achievement has been the people I’ve taught and mentored, who have gone on to play instrumental roles in the industry.”
Mr. Horn, a technical fellow at Eastman Chemical Company, has received numerous awards for his achievements over the years, including the first Technical Associate Member Service Award given by the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers in 1995. He also was recognized by the Chicago Printing Ink Production Club with its first Lifetime Achievement Award.
