Mike Buystedt, director of market development, Akzo Nobel Inks (ANI) North America, has been awarded the first-ever Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) Supplier of the Year Award. Mr. Buystedt was awarded this honor for his 25 years of service to the TLMI through his work on the board of directors and various other committees, as a frequent speaker at functions and for other contributions to TLMI.
Mr. Buystedt has served on the TLMI Board of Directors, as chair of the Technical and Awards committees, as a judge for the TLMI and the World Label Awards, and currently serves as the TLMI World Awards liaison.
In addition, Mr. Buystedt has volunteered his time toward other industry associations, including the FTA, EMA, PIM, ICMA, FPA and GAA.
Mr. Buystedt began his career with Werneke Ink in 1978, where he was involved in the development of the industry’s first high-quality water-based ink. As a result of his wide range of experience while at Werneke Ink and Akzo Nobel Inks, he is in tune with most every aspect of the company and the industry. In addition to his extensive industry involvement, he is very involved in the technical, marketing and business aspects of Akzo Nobel Inks. He is dedicated to the success of the company, and is a true believer of keeping the best interest of
the customer foremost at all times. He has been a leader in the company, assisting in growing the business and in mentoring the development of the employees with whom he works.
