Recognizing the market demand for consistent, high quality products delivered to suit specific needs, Akzo Nobel Inks (www.aninks.com) has invested in new fully automated UV manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, California and Pennsylvania. These facilities and their local support centers are bringing the manufacture of products closer to the customer.
This automation effort is consistent with Akzo Nobel Inks’ earlier investment to support the manufacture of water-based products. With this additional investment, Akzo Nobel Inks will now supply UV flexo products to customers in the North American region.
“To master a flawless supply chain irrespectively of ink technology and print application is the challenge we, as leaders in the narrow web market, have risen to, and this is the first step of a continued process aimed to bring unmatched customer service across North America,” said Dave Hiserodt, president of Akzo Nobel Inks. “As a result of hearing the voice of our customers, and with our talented employees’ dedicated team efforts, we are proud to be able to support more demanding requirements of the market. Innovative manufacturing concepts and optimized facilities will allow us to deliver existing products and develop new products much faster than before.”
“These new facilities and the automated processing of our core flexo and screen products have shown exciting product benefits. We will be able to deliver more products with shorter lead times, and through these new manufacturing systems, products will consistently be of the highest quality,” said Tom Hammer, director of product portfolio.
In addition, Akzo Nobel Inks is hosting a narrow web packaging seminar at its Center for Technical Excellence in Plymouth, MN on Oct. 14-15. For more information, contact the company at (763) 559-5911 or by e-mail at emily.rupar@ na.aninks.com.
