Akzo Nobel will form a new unit, ink and adhesive resins, by merging the businesses printing ink resins and pine specialties, with a combined total of 550 employees. The merger will be effective on Jan. 1.
The new sub-business unit will be headquartered in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and will be part of Akzo Nobel’s business unit pulp and paper chemicals, which is headquartered in Göteborg, Sweden.
“By combining our international strengths, we can further improve services to our customers,” said Jan Willem Henkelman, general manager of ink and adhesive resins. “The new combination creates possibilities to utilize synergies in all main business processes. It will enhance scale optimization and will offer increased opportunities for growth.”
