Xaar plc, Cambridge, U.K., has teamed up with Sericol Imaging to launch a new fast-drying solvent ink set – the Color+ XA ink series – for the graphic arts printing market.
The Color+XA ink series was specifically developed for use with Xaar’s XJ128 printhead, which is already installed in a high proportion of large and wide format printers worldwide. According to the companies, the ink has been uniquely formulated to achieve rapid dry times on a variety of non-porous substrates, including uncoated PVC, without the aid of excessive heat application.
Users will benefit from faster job turnaround times without compromising quality of color, as the ink’s high-performance pigments achieve vibrant color characteristics that are fade resistant for up to two years.
The Color+ XA solvent ink also adheres well to a wide range of vinyl and flexible graphic arts substrates, making it an ideal solution for printers of outdoor applications such as banners, according to company officials.
“The Color+ XA ink series presents Xaar with a new and refreshing product to add to its already expansive inks portfolio,” said Jill Woods, Inks media product manager at Xaar. “Its unique drying properties and optimum print performance make the ink a leading solution for printers who wish to achieve high quality output.”
The ink is available in six colors: CMYK, light cyan and light magenta.
