Sartomer Company has announced that its manufacturing plant in Chatham, VA has successfully earned ISO 9002:1994 certification, and is already upgrading to the newly implemented ISO 9001:2000 standard.
This ISO registration marks Sartomer’s third. Its West Chester, PA manufacturing and administrative facilities, as well as its Channelview Norsolene facility in Houston, TX are already registered to ISO 9002:1994. Each of these plants is currently transitioning to the 2000 standard.
“We look at ISO registration as more than an end-goal,” said John Piechule, Sartomer’s ISO coordinator. “It’s really a means of continual process improvement, allowing us to maintain the quality standards that are so critical in the specialty chemicals marketplace. That’s why we are already upgrading our current quality systems to meet the new 2000 standards.”
