Color Resolutions Finds New Software Aids Ink Product Development
Color Resolutions International LLC reported that powerful new chemical information systems are enhancing ink product development and quality control abilities for developing and producing specialty printing inks.
According to James Ford, a product development chemist at the company, new software upgrades are not only simplifying storage and analysis of chemical data, but are also allowing the ink manufacturer to manipulate chemical information at new levels.
In particular, Mr. Ford noted ChambridgeSoft’s latest ChemOffice software with Microsoft Office and its MS Excel program. Mr. Ford described the capabilities of the software at Color Resolutions to determine the optimal blend of photoinitiators to be employed in UV curing formulations for printing inks. It allows company chemists to enter solubility, activity and cost data for each photoinitiator candidate and identify the best formulation.
