O-I Glass ranks 52 out of 500 employers on Forbes’ “America’s Best Large Employers 2021” list.
The Forbes’ top employers list was determined by an anonymous survey of 50,000 Americans who worked for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. The respondents were asked to rate how likely they’d be to recommend their employers to others.
“We have a rich history of expertise with a strong heritage,“ said Kate Murawa, O-I VP of Talent, Learning and Culture. “Our employees tell us there is passion, dedication, teamwork and a sense of family at O-I.”
O-I Glass is based in Perrysburg, Ohio, with 25,000 employees worldwide in 20 countries.
“While we believe that glass is the most sustainable and kindest packaging material for the planet, our sustainability journey is about more than what we make: it’s how we make it,” Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer Randy Burns said. “O-I’s sustainability journey is a holistic approach that seeks to balance people, planet, and our collective prosperity to build a sustainable organization for the future. Everything we do is driven by our people.”
As part of O-I’s commitment to a sustainable people-focused organization, the company signed its support to the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge; O-I also participated in the 2021 Corporate Equality Index and established their Global Executive Diversity & Inclusion Council.
“The safety and health of our employees are paramount,” Murawa said. “It’s important for us to ensure we create and maintain an environment where people feel safe, included and engaged in their work. Our Employer Value Proposition ‘Make What Matters’ reflects that we are committed to our values, which means we are committed to our people. It guides all that we do to support a top-notch employee experience.”
