Flint CPS Inks North America LLC, formerly known as Flint Group North America, which is the North American subsidiary of Luxembourg-based Flint Group serving the commercial printing industry, said it is reaching out to suppliers who may have experienced payment delinquencies or other contractual infractions similar to those alleged by Flint in its multi-count lawsuit filed April 2, 2020, against Trend Offset Printing Services, Inc. in the United States District Court Central District of California — Southern Division.
McDonald Hopkins PLC of Bloomfield Hills, MI, is representing Flint Group.
The lawsuit filed by Flint Group against Trend seeking damages in excess of $4 million includes causes of action for breach of contract, account stated, conversion, and claim and delivery.
In pursuit of a final resolution, Flint Group filed its Motion for Partial Summary Judgment on its Breach of Contract claim against Trend in the same court on June 8, 2020.
Headquartered in Los Alamitos, CA, the defendant is a national printer serving magazine, catalog, direct mail and retail advertising segments, whose services include prepress, press, finishing and mail and distribution of printed materials (sale circulars and printed inserts).
Flint Group and Trend entered into a Supply Agreement on or about Jan. 1, 2016, which was later amended by a First Amendment to Supply Agreement, dated Aug. 1, 2017, whereby Flint Group provided Trend with inks, flat blankets, sleeves, fountain solutions, web conditions and press washes.
In the lawsuit, Flint Group alleges that the current balance owing on Trend's account with Flint Group is nearly $4 million, in addition to other causes of action.
